Composer and orchestrator, Kostas Maragos belongs to the new generation of Greek composers of film, cinema and performing arts.

Having started receiving music education at the age of 7, he soon realized that music was the most important medium that helped him to express, describe and accompany images, stimuli and experiences in his mind. In the course of his studies and having now taken his first steps in music composition, he began to dress special and personal moments, with his own original melodies.

In 2004 he began his academic studies at the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University (Corfu), and since 2007 he was introduced to the direction of Classical Composition and Music Composition for Performing Arts with professors Mr. Papadatos Joseph and Mrs. Trypani Dimitra.
From 2004 to 2006, he was a member of the Ionian University choir as a tenor, where in collaboration with the university symphony orchestra, he participated in concerts held at the Ionian Academy of Corfu and the Megaron Athens Concert Hall.

He has attended classes on jazz and musical improvisation as well as multi-faceted musical improvisation seminars in 2009, with the international jazz trumpeter, Brent Sandy. Both his love of the audiovisual arts and William Antoniou’s seminar on film music, which he attended in 2008, further confirmed his desire and need to pursue a career in music investment in image.

His studies in music composition gave him the opportunity to immerse himself both theoretically and practically in the instruments of the symphony orchestra, where in 2011, as part of the first degree course in classical composition, he composed, orchestrated and presented at the Ionian Academy his first complete musical work played by members of the Ionian University Symphony Orchestra, as in 2012, as part of his second and third degree in music composition for performing arts, he composed original music for video art and 3D animation video.

As a graduate of the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University, he has written music for a TV show, orchestrated music for theater as well as composed original music for a feature film and TV series.
